The crap weather also gave us the perfect excuse to get the hardtop off the kitchen table and on to the car! After a couple of hours working out the japanese instructions and lots of fiddling we finally cracked it (well.. not 'cracked' it! .... that would be bad!). The top's been on for about a month now, and although the car has only been out a few times... it appears to be watertight! wahoo! It also gives a lot more headroom and rear visibility which is a huge novelty in a beat. The profile of the car certainly looks a lot sleeker and tidier.
The past couple of times we've been out in the car, the roof has started to make a few squeeking noises so when i get a chance I'll take the whole thing off again, give everything a clean and a squirt with something and re-tighten everything back down. Hopefully that should fix it. For the time being though I'm really happy with it.
